So the Olympics have been pretty good so far. Phelps is simply amazing and Dara Torres being able to swim like this at her age is awesome. The gymnastics was a bit shocking, especially with all the athletes determined to do routines above their skill level. It made it really hard to watch with all of the falls and large mistakes. Nastia and Shawn are champs though. They really pulled it out and showed a level of athleticism that I hope the next Olympics will show. The mens was..disappointing. I haven't had a chance to watch any of the tennis yet and only a bit of everything else, but that's what nbcolympics.com is for. I am actually almost completely done packing and cleaning up my room. It is about time I got rid of all the junk that has accumulated over the years. I have only one more week of work to go. I also found out that I was moved into permanent housing instead of temporary housing so now I have three roommates to scare. Yay! I have actually not read any faction in over a week...but that isn't to say I haven't been reading anything. I now got hooked on webcomics again and gott caught up on some of my favorites like El Goonish Shive and Dominic Deegan. I also found one called Real Life that I am enjoying quite a bit and my friend showed me a few more called Khaos Komix (which is stunning), XKCD, and Indexed. Now, is dear Jordan Grant updates, I will of course race off to read it, but other than that I am actually off my addiction for once. Well, in exchange for another. My other addiction would be makeup...which is something that I have trouble admitting some days. I don't really exude the girly-girl, but I do like to look good. I guess after so many years of wanting to be invisible and then coming out in all my loud glory that I enjoy attracting attention now. First thing I did while looking for locations of common stores in Rochester is find the nearest MAC store. Also need to find a Sephora...What I want to buy now is some more stuff for my eyelashes. I want to try falsies and some other products besides trusty curler and mascara (which I am running out of). I could also use some more brushes and I was wondering about that mascara brush that MAC has as well. I also saw the tinted lip conditioner and immediately wanted it. Ok, Phelps just got 8 gold. SWEET! Back to makeup...I wasn't big on before mostly because I had no one to direct me until I met my friend Lisa who is a photographer and an avid MAC user. So thus I was introduced and spent quite a bit on it. I have a better feel for makeup now and have really seen why there are so many things to choose and so many tools to do it with. I also get so many compliments from people when I do wear makeup (some mornings I just can't be arsed) which really boosts my confidence. I also have a lot of fun putting on makeup and don't ever find it to be a chore or something I have to do. I look fine without it (I get envious looks for my good skin, thank you genes), but when I want some extra sparkle I wear it and feel good wearing it. Another thing is all the makeup I tried before was well..cheap. It looked terrible and often I was allergic to it (or it would irritate my eyes). Anyway, I will try to keep in touch and post more about my move to Rochester. I am hoping with this move I will be in an encouraging environment with people who also share my interests. Have a good weekend peeps! Tags: life, makeup, olympics, rit Current Location: On the couch...in pain.

So things are still going well for me...mostly. I keep getting sick as I might have mentioned at some point, but luckily I am well at the moment. The Job Fair went quite well this year and my boss awarded me for all my hard work for his office. Made me feel kinda nice actually. My personal life is still null except for a couple friends with benefits deals here and there and even those have been null as well. Might have to do with my health now that think of it. Been too busy trying to stay afloat in all my classes. As for wanting to be in a relationship with someone, its pretty moot since I will be moving to Rochester. I guess I could do with the company, the support, all the nice bits, but I don't think I could handle the drama. I don't want to fight over stupid stuff, worry about this or that. I pretty much just want a human teddy bear that I can snuggle with. Kinda reminds me of the song, "Coin Operated Boy". On another subject I have done a couple pics in Bryce that came out kinda cool I guess. One is still rendering as I was bored and decided how the best anti aliasing settings would look. Will have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Might post a couple if I feel like it. As for writing, I think after finals (which are very soon) I will take another crack at it. If only to ease the guilt at the continuing stream of people who are reccing my stuff. Hell, I might even have some time at work now that the job fair is over. Think I might go through my portable hdd or my old bkups from a few years ago and see if I can find all my documents. I know I got them somewhere around here...along with a couple chapters of original fiction that I found interesting, though I don't see any end in sight with that specifically. Maybe I could work on Pretty Boy some too while I am at it. Its all a maybe. As for the moment, I need to get some sleep and stop reading Jordan Grant (go check out her journal and her Cambiarte Podentes series (2 novel length stories. Completed. Also her WIP Owned. Unless its finished and I didn't notice. ^^;;;) Go see her at jordangrant. Slash goodness. THE MORAL POLITICS TEST RDHDDMAZOKU'S SCORE Your scored -1 on Moral Order and 0 on Moral Rules. The following categories best match your score (multiple responses are possible): 1. System: Liberalism, Socialism 2. Ideology: Capital Democratism, Social Democratism 3. Party: Democratic Party 4. Presidents: Jimmy Carter 5. 04' Election: John Kerry 6. 08' Election: Barack Obama Of the 409,412 respondents (1,130 on Facebook): 1. 12% are close to you. 2. 27% are more conservative. 3. 20% are more liberal. 4. 27% are more socialist. 5. 9% are more authoritarian. But John Kerry was as much an idiot as Bush! I think our country is perpetually fucked. To take this quiz goto http://www.moral-politics.com/xPolitics.aspx?menu=Home&action=Test&choice=LongI also discovered Christopher Moore's website today which has me completely entertained. I absolutely adore his books, and if you haven't read him yet, shame on you! A good starter is Lamb, Blood Sucking Fiends, and You Suck. Oh and A Dirty Job. That one is a definite absolute must read. Then go out and read all the other ones. Anyway, his site has led me to many things besides the endlessly entertaining blog entries and comments. One such place was http://www.cupcakeblog.com/. Seriously. Taaaaasty. Now for another quiz I absolutely adore Minty Fresh. Not to mention he carries my weapon of choice. Oh how beautiful the Desert Eagle is. Specifically the Mark XIX .50 Action Express. 10 inch barrel. Hell, here is a link. http://www.magnumresearch.com/Expand.asp?ProductCode=DEXIX10. Actually I could go for a 6 inch barrel too. http://www.magnumresearch.com/Expand.asp?ProductCode=DE50TG-TS or http://www.magnumresearch.com/Expand.asp?ProductCode=TG or http://www.magnumresearch.com/Expand.asp?ProductCode=BCGO. I think my fascination with this gun started somewhere when I saw the movie Snatch. Someday, I want one of these. Now I think I ran out of random things to talk about. I got the munchies anyway. Well, officially I do not know about RIT, but at least finally, FINALLY all the bloody paperwork is sorted out. As for life, its going alright. Still working on campus, though this semester I am not going to be an SI, but instead work for the HSI department in migrating the old and new parts of the website. This semester I am just taking Calculus 3, C Programming, and Genereal Chemistry II with lab. Going to make as much of an effort as I can in Chem, but it is my weakness. Once again I have a math professor that I like and I think this Programming teacher will be a step up from my last one. Actually, she is the wife of my previous professor. Both are Korean and think very differently than Americans. At least I shouldn't be as frustrated with her as I was with her husband. As for art type stuff, its been put to the side for the time being. I got my room to finish (been redoing it) and stuff to study this weekend. I also have to finish up fixing my computer. At least the hardware issues appear to be fixed. Had some heatsink issues which resulted in Windows frying two of my hard drives. Also had to get a new dvd drive, which I got for 60 bucks off of e-bay instead of paying 200 bucks to HP. So far it works without issue. Go e-bay! Mentally I guess I am ok. Surprisingly I am not very interested in entering into any kind of romantic relationship at this time. Still get stressed out sometimes, but not too bad. At least I didn't think so. Though my professor told me the other day that he was glad I didn't look as stressed as I did last semester. Was I really that bad? I still don't want to go on any meds or herbs, but I might have to. Maybe I have been so frantic for so long that I don't what it is to be calm. Might look into some kava kava. *sigh* Well, back to obsessively checking the RIT page to see if I have been accepted or not. ^__^ Tags: life Current Location: Computer Desk Current Mood: hungry Current Music: Portishead - Glory Box, Live in NY
